Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that involves gentle touch to reduce stress, promote relaxation, and support the body’s natural healing processes, offering numerous benefits such as improved wellbeing and stress relief. The word “Reiki” comes from the Japanese words “Rei,” meaning universal, and “Ki,” meaning life force energy.
While its roots trace back to ancient Buddhist practices, modern Reiki was rediscovered by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 1900s. In 1922, after a mystical experience on Mount Kurama, Dr. Usui gained the ability to channel Reiki energy. He then created a healing system called Usui Reiki Ryoho, which he taught to others.
Chujiro Hayashi, one of Dr. Usui’s students, expanded Reiki’s reach. Later, Hawayo Takata introduced it to the West in the mid-20th century.
Today, Reiki is practiced worldwide. Its holistic approach makes it a simple, effective way to boost health and reduce stress.
Reiki helps you relax deeply, whether at home or at work. It allows your body and mind to reset and recharge in familiar surroundings.
2. Relief from anxiety and stress
Contemporary Reiki can reduce feelings of anxiety and mental distress. It offers a calming and grounding experience that supports emotional balance.
3. Rebalanced energy
Reiki benefits the body by rebalancing energy throughout and the energy fields that surround you. This restores harmony, leaving you feeling centred and renewed.
Reiki treatments often result in greater mental clarity. You may find it easier to navigate challenges or make decisions following a session.
Reiki complements medical treatments and therapies, enhancing their effectiveness. It’s a gentle, side-effect-free way to support your overall health.
Incorporating Reiki into your routine can help you experience many benefits and create a deeper sense of balance in your life.
